Agriculture Field Specialists
AgCall Inc. has an exciting field opportunity for ag professionals starting August 14th through to September 15th . Our Agriculture Field Specialists will inspect corn fields in select regions to gather observations for a specific pest. Successful Specialists must be a self-starter, motivated, and make good assessments in field to determine if a pest is present or not.
Job Details
Pay: $35 - $42/hour, plus mileage reimbursement. Compensation will reflect a candidate’s skills and experience.
Job types: Part time, seasonal
Contract length: August 14th – September 15th
Schedule: Day shift, flexible hours
Work location: Sussex region, New Brunswick and Truro area, Nova Scotia (including Saint John, Sussex, Moncton, Amherst, Truro, New Glasgow, Brookfield)
Responsibilities
- Connect with growers to confirm field locations
- Investigate and assess corn fields for a specific pest
- Work with a team to conduct all field scouts, document findings, and relay information
- Collect data and document observations in an online platform
- Communicate to grower, client, and AgCall management
Requirements
- Must be available for day travel to make field visits from approximately August 14th through September 15th
- Agronomy or equivalent industry experience
- Skilled at in-field scouting, insect identification, crop assessment, and investigating environmental conditions
- Familiarity with corn scouting and specifically pests in corn
- Strong observation skills
- Effective communication skills
- Use of a Smartphone
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle in good working condition
Training
Successful Associates must attend a technical training session. Additional in-field training may be available. Attendance at training is required. Associates will report directly to AgCall and will receive training on the data collection and submission procedures.
