Market Development Representative
AgCall Inc. has an exciting opportunity for crop protection industry professionals in select geographies in the U.S. for a market development program. The role is based on 30 hours per week with maximum of 400 hours. Work is based from home with a flexible schedule. Retailer and grower calls and visits should occur immediately following project training, and continuing until December 31st.
Associates will be meeting one-on-one with crop protection retailers, both independent and regional/national, as well as tomato and pepper growers on behalf of the client to assess awareness and need for a bactericide to control bacterial diseases in peppers and tomatoes. Associate will educate on the client company and encourage fall trials of the new bactericide.

Requirements
- Must be comfortable meeting with distributors, retailers and growers and building relationships
- Required to be available for day travel for meetings with prospective customers
- Biological product experience a must
- Broad knowledge of local agronomic practices for tomatoes and peppers, ability to show benefits of new bactericide product advantages compared to copper-based products
- Proven experience in selling crop protection products to retailers or a retail business preferred
- Comfortable with prospecting, cold-calling and meeting with prospects, not discouraged by rejection
- Able to work independently within your assigned territory
- A desire to help customers develop strategies to improve their operations and practices
- Detail-oriented with excellent notetaking, record-keeping and communication skills
- Provide own computer, cell phone with voicemail, email, and fax or scanner
- May be active/semi-retired or retired consultants, retailers, manufacturer/distributor sales reps, agronomists or other ag professionals
- Potential to bring past and present relationships with key retail decision-makers, influencers, and market access partners to the table is desirable
- Must have reliable transportation to complete in-person visits with prospects
Responsibilities
- Product Introduction and Trial Management
- Build relationships with targeted retailers and growers in your assigned area with the objectives of introducing a new bactericide
- Educate retailers and growers on the client company and its new bactericide for tomatoes and peppers
- Facilitate fall trial program, from retailer and grower signup through data collection at key points, including application confirmation, disease control assessment, and harvest data
- Enter all relevant customer feedback, comments and competitive data into digital tracking tool in a timely manner, as directed, within 24 hours of the completed call or visit
- Gather market intel of competitive products, use of biological products and retail satisfaction of current products, programs or systems
- Support client in awareness-building activities, with sales support as opportunities become available
- Build retailer and grower relationships on behalf of the client
- Meet with AgCall and client on a bi-weekly basis to provide status updates
Training
Associates will receive comprehensive training on the product, the sales and marketing strategy that has been set forth for the brand, and the data collection and submission procedures that are required for payment. Introductory training will be held via video conference with additional training sessions scheduled as required. We provide a competitive wage with bonus structure for all projects. Associates earn an hourly base rate, bonuses, mileage and expense reimbursement.
