Business Development Manager

Location: Canada

As a thriving enterprise that has been in business for 35 years, AgCall is looking for a passionate Business Development Manager who will partner with and ensure the long-term success of our clients in Canada. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with assigned clients, as well as connecting with key business executives and stakeholders in the agriculture industry.

This person will have the complete AgCall toolbox of customer influencing solutions including face to face, over the phone, and online/technology solutions to bring value to both our existing and new clients.

The right person will control their own destiny, decide where they want to live and work from, have the ability to grow without having to relocate, and establish a work/life balance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Identify new clients and develop new business across Canada.
  • Relentless pursuit of new opportunities in new emerging sectors of agriculture.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders, internal coaches and executive decision makers.
  • Identify pressures and opportunities within the client where gaps may exist. Using that knowledge, identify business opportunities and work with client and internal AgCall teams to brainstorm concepts and solutions.
  • Develop creative approaches to client needs, build out cost estimates, write proposals and agreements (including Master Agreements, Statements of Works, etc.) and close sales.
  • Identify possible opportunities within other sectors of existing clients. Farming within. Utilize existing relationships and coaches to penetrate deeper into the organization.
  • Organize and manage certain projects, as required.
  • Act as the main liaison between the client and project manager to ensure quality, provide reports, updates etc.
  • Monitor budgets and work with Project Managers to meet quality and profitability goals/margins.
  • Assist Project Managers/Coordinators to develop a network of contacts for recruiting.
  • Work closely with other AgCall consultants and employees.
  • Take active part in agriculture associations to promote AgCall.
Education and Experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Strong Agriculture background
Requirements
  • Proven account management or other relevant sales experience (5-7 years) preferably working in the professional services industry (e.g. agency)
  • Proven experience managing business relationships and closing sales
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • A take charge type of person with the desire to get things done
  • Ability to influence and lead others in team environments.
